Cathy,
Long time no talk! Good to hear from you. I know Chris is home. I got to see him right before he stepped off here. I must say I'm a bit jealous, but thankful that he made it home safe and sound. He is truly a wonderful young man and you should consider yourself blessed to have him as a nephew. Life over here is chaotic as you can imagine. The enemy has been on the offensive trying to attack before winter strikes. This has made life less than relaxing here. I know that this too shall pass. Winter is coming on fast here in Afghanistan. It's already freezing in the mornings. I think Chris told you we're in the mountains here. In terms of boxes, please thank everyone in advance. You have no idea how much Soldiers love mail and care packages. My sister sent letters to all of the guys in our office, and just about everyone hung them on their desk! It was touching. As far as requests, we're running low on supplies in the little store here-gum, beef jerky, coffee, any kind of snacks really, lotion, towels, phone cards, movies, kleenex, cough drops (we're all sick), anything like that. Just know that we really appreciate all that you guys do. Thanks soooo much.
Until next time,
Ronalee Balog
