One of my students was recently paroled out to Austin Transitional Center in Austin, TX & has been attending the Bible studies & worship services that the Westover Church of Christ in Austin holds for them. He was baptized at the Westover Church of Christ on March 30, 2008!
He wrote me the nicest letter that very day!
Dear Mrs. Burt,
You're probably wondering why I have not written. On the 6th of March I got paroled to Austin Transitional Center, like a half way house in Austin. This is to give you thanks for not giving up on me with the Lord. In this short time out I have accomplished and I am free like I have never been before. The Lord has set me free and I have with all my heart surrendered to Him. Today on this day I got baptized at Westover Church of Christ, the main church that provides for us people on parole and in so many ways at the Freedom church here at the ATC.
These people have shown so much love and concern for us like I have never seen before by the grace of God. I have been touched so deeply that I am not going to return to Corpus Christi. When I leave this center, I am going to attend Westover Church of Christ.
I love my savior and now this new persom in me has one mission. That is to lead others to the Lord and to praise Him.
You came to me like an angel sent by God and I thank you a million and more times for everything. Keep up your good work with Flying Free Ministries.
My regards to your husband and son and the church. You are in my prayers at all times.
With all my heart and brotherly love in Jesus,
Francisco Ramon
